Summer Immersion Program

ClosedScienceSTEMSummer Program

About the Program

The Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program was a free, virtual two-week program where high school girls and non-binary students learned computer science fundamentals in live virtual classrooms. Participants designed creative computer games inspired by their passions, gained practical university and career advice, and got an inside look at working in tech. The program provided support through devoted Teaching Teams and classmates from around the world, as well as career inspiration and mentorship from exclusive Partner Events. The curriculum covered game design, with classes meeting Monday through Friday for 2-3 hours daily, followed by independent work time and optional Student Hours. The 2025 cohort was the final Summer Immersion Program; starting in 2026, it has been replaced by the Pathways program, which combines elements of the Summer Immersion Program and the Self-Paced Program with flexible coursework in artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, game design, and web development.
