About the Program

The PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival is an annual international short film competition organized by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). Now in its 18th edition, it invites filmmakers under the age of 25 from all over the world to submit short videos addressing migration, diversity, and social inclusion.

There are three age categories — 12 and under, 13–17, and 18–25 — each with its own International Jury Distinction. UNAOC also awards Special Recognitions for videos combating xenophobia and for responsible narratives on migration. Winners in each category receive an all-expenses-paid invitation to the PLURAL+ Awards Ceremony, most often held in New York City though the venue can vary by year; for participants under 18, travel and accommodation for one parent or legal guardian is also covered.

The festival is free to enter and open to all nationalities. The 2026 deadline, originally June 30, has been extended to July 7, 2026, at 5:00pm EDT. Check pluralplus.unaoc.org each spring for the next cycle's submission portal and guidelines.
