SPARC
SPARC (Summer Program for Applied Rationality and Cognition) is a two-week in-person summer program typically hosted at a college campus in California in late July. The curriculum focuses on applied rationality, using techniques from decision theory, behavioral economics, and statistics to improve mental habits and form accurate beliefs. Classes are discussion-based and cover topics like noticing, cognitive biases, superforecasting, and statistical street fighting. The program also includes various activities and a speaker series.

Historically, SPARC looks for students who are curious and driven to get answers to their questions, self-reflective and thoughtful, or good at simplifying and solving hard problems. No grade reports, test scores, or recommendation letters are required. Applicants should highlight accomplishments, projects, or awards they are proud of.
Applicants must be currently in high school or have not finished their first year as an undergraduate.
While younger students are welcome to apply, SPARC generally accepts students who are in at least 11th grade of high school or equivalent (e.g., homeschooled).
