About the Program

Project Green Challenge (PGC) is a free annual 30-day environmental competition run by Turning Green, a nonprofit organization that has engaged over 350,000 students since 2011. Each October, students from high school through graduate school worldwide complete daily eco-themed challenges designed to build climate awareness and drive sustainable behavior change. New challenges are unveiled each morning, and participants submit photos, videos, or creative content for a chance to win up to 20 daily prizes.

At the end of October, up to 14 top performers are selected as finalists for an all-expenses-paid Finals event held in San Francisco in November. Finalists then develop Climate Action Projects with mentorship support from December through April. The overall champion receives the $5,000 Acure Green Award.

PGC has engaged students across more than 100 countries and is free to join with no application fee or prerequisites.
