GENIUS Coding allows students to use their coding skills to solve environmental issues. Students are expected to use Python programming language to develop algorithmic solutions for problems given by GENIUS Olympiad. It provides students with a lifetime experience and an opportunity to enhance their life skills such as coding, creative thinking, and problem-solving. Students will work individually to solve the problems and will get real-time feedback if their solution is not successful, which allows them to rework their solution to mimic real-life scenarios.

  • RIT University scholarships are available for award winners (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mention, Participant, Finalist) for study at RIT, ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 renewable scholarships.

Critères d'éligibilité

📋 Exigences générales

Students should be experienced in Python coding and capable of creating algorithmic solutions. A stable internet connection is required for the first step online competition. For the first step, students can use any online or paper source. For the final step, students must bring their own laptops and turn off other electronic devices. Only paper sources are allowed during the final step competition. The use of AI chatbot tools is prohibited. Students cannot ask for help from others during the competition.

Processus de candidature

The application involves two steps: the First Step Competition and the Final Step Competition. To participate in the first step, students must register by the deadline and pay the application fee. The first step is a one-hour online competition with up to 5 Python coding problems. Finalists are selected based on their performance in the first step. The Final Step Competition is an in-person competition lasting two and a half hours with multiple Python coding problems. Students must bring their own laptops for the final step. Tutorial videos for account creation and application are available.
