AwesomeMath Summer Program (AMSP)

ClosedMathSummer Program

About the Program

The AwesomeMath Summer Program (AMSP) is an intensive three-week virtual summer camp for mathematically gifted students ages 12-18 from around the world. Founded by Dr. Titu Andreescu, former head coach of the USA IMO team, AMSP offers four progressive course levels spanning algebra, combinatorics, geometry, and number theory. Each level is designed to prepare students for increasingly advanced competitions, from AMC through USAMO and IMO. Daily sessions include 90-minute lectures and 60-minute collaborative problem-solving, with weekly assessments, office hours, and instructor feedback on homework. Three sessions are offered each summer, and students may enroll in multiple courses.

Deadline check (2026-11-03): The official 2026 program overview and course catalog confirm all three historical session date ranges. The deadline table confirms January 14 (early), February 18, March 25, April 22, and May 26, 2026 (final), all at 5 p.m. Central Time. The overview gives December 15, 2025 as the opening. These sources still describe 2026; the deadline page also retains an obsolete 2024 exception notice. Neither that notice nor a separate Spring 2027 Academy banner establishes availability for Summer 2027. No 2027 summer dates or application deadline were found on these sources.

The official application instructions distinguish new applicants from returning, previously accepted, and qualifying USA(J)MO applicants, who are exempt from the admission test and recommendation.

Eligibility

Open to mathematically gifted middle and high school students ages 12-18 worldwide. Applicants submit an application; new applicants without automatic admission also need a recommendation and admission test. Returning students, previously accepted students, and qualifying USA(J)MO applicants are exempt from the test and recommendation.

How to Apply

For the historical 2026 program, applicants without automatic admission create an account, submit an online application, arrange a math teacher or mentor recommendation, and take an admission test. Returning or previously accepted students and qualifying USA(J)MO applicants follow the automatic-admission route without the test or recommendation. USA(J)MO qualifiers must have taken both AMC 10/12 and AIME in the United States or Canada and provide proof of qualification. The 2026 rounds had tiered tuition; no 2027 summer application dates have been verified.
