Berkeley Pre-College Scholars is a residential summer program at the University of California, Berkeley, allowing high school students who have completed 10th or 11th grade to take real UC Berkeley lower-division courses alongside college students. Students live on campus and experience full Berkeley academic and campus life.
Two residential sessions:
- Session C (8 weeks, late June – mid-August): $15,987 all-inclusive
- Session D (6 weeks, early July – mid-August): $14,687 all-inclusive
All-inclusive fee covers: Tuition, housing, meals, orientation, excursions and activities, basic health insurance, and on-site support. Flights, textbooks, and personal expenses are not included.
Courses: Access to a large catalog of lower-division (numbered 1–99) UC Berkeley Summer Sessions courses available to high school students. Students earn UC credit that may be transferable, at the receiving institution's discretion.
Eligibility:
- Completed 10th or 11th grade
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (weighted or unweighted)
- At least 16 years old by June 21
- Plan to continue high school studies in the fall
Financial aid: One media scholarship (valued at $15,987, covering full Session C cost) is awarded annually. No payment plans or third-party billing contracts are accepted.
International students: Welcome; must meet Berkeley Summer Sessions English language proficiency requirements.
