The Spain Summer Performance Program is a two-week intensive music program held at Berklee's campus in Valencia, Spain. It is open to musicians from around the world between the ages of 15 and 29, with a minimum of six months of instrument or voice experience. All experience levels within that range are welcome.
Curriculum:
Students take three courses simultaneously:
| Course | Description |
|---|---|
| Musicianship & Theory | Fundamentals and applied theory for contemporary music |
| Instrument Seminar | Small-group instruction based on principal instrument |
| Recording Musician Ensemble | Ensemble performance across contemporary styles |
Styles covered include contemporary, jazz, pop and rock, funk/fusion, pop/R&B, salsa/Latin, and world music. Students are grouped by principal instrument, which may include percussion, brass, woodwinds, keyboards, and electronic/digital instruments.
Credits:
Students who earn a grade of B or higher in each course may receive one college credit per course (three credits total).
Final performance:
The program concludes with a public performance.
Logistics:
The program is held on the Berklee Valencia campus but is not residential. Students arrange their own off-campus accommodation in Valencia. Berklee supervises only during scheduled program hours. Participants under 18 need a parent/legal guardian accompanying them or signed parental/guardian authorization to participate without adult supervision. English instruction is used; B1 proficiency is recommended, with no proof required.
Instruments:
Percussion, brass, woodwinds, keyboards, strings, voice, and electronic/digital instruments (EDI).
Verified 2027 dates and registration: The program page explicitly lists July 19–30, 2027. The registration guide requires the online form plus full registration/tuition payment before a place is confirmed. A pre-program musical background form informs placement.
The linked tuition page lists $2,940 with a $50 non-refundable registration portion and a March 10 payment deadline, but gives neither cycle year nor dollar currency. It adds a 2.95% card charge, which is non-refundable along with the registration portion. Its general withdrawal terms offer full tuition refund at least 30 days before the program and 50% for later requests no later than 5 p.m. CET on the first day; medical provisions are separate, and the page also says tuition is not refundable after the start. These undated fee/refund terms are not asserted as confirmed 2027 pricing or a new application cutoff.
Checked November 4, 2026 against the program page, registration guide and linked tuition page. Program dates are confirmed; exact year-qualified entry/payment deadlines, 2027 pricing and full-funding availability remain unconfirmed.
