Carnegie Mellon University's Pre-College Programs offer rising juniors and seniors summer study on the Pittsburgh campus. For 2027, applicants must be at least sixteen by June 26. AI Scholars, CS Scholars and SAMS are fully funded merit programs; scholarships for paid programs cover tuition, housing and dining. Those programs and scholarships are limited to US citizens and permanent residents.
The 2027 scholarship/fully funded application cutoff is February 1 and basic cutoff March 1, both 11:59 p.m. EST. Scholarship and merit decisions are April 1; basic decisions are rolling. International applications after February 1 require a year of US high-school attendance and return to a US high school the following school year. The separate international page discusses April 1 supporting-document requirements for students needing an I-20; that undated document instruction is not presented here as a later general application deadline.
A USD75 application fee applies, with waivers for scholarship consideration and specified fully funded-only program selections. Standard enrollment deposits are USD800, scholarship deposits USD100, and the three fully funded tracks require no deposit; replies/deposits are generally due within seven days of decisions. The current admissions page does not list EDG:E as a fourth fully funded 2027 merit track. Its cost-page entry remains under a 2026 heading, so no 2027 EDG:E place or waiver is asserted.
Sources checked November 4, 2026: 2027 admissions requirements and deadlines, international instructions, costs and scholarships and arrival dates. The cost page still labels academic prices 2026 despite 2027 scholarship/refund dates; paid 2027 prices are not confirmed. The former catalog's 2026 residential range of USD7,927–14,688 and individual price table were not reverified and are historical catalog information only. No exact application opening date or subsequent cycle has been verified.
