About the Program

The Civic Innovators Fellowship is Civics Unplugged's virtual civic innovation programme within CU Society. The current official page describes two eight-week parts, September–November and February–April, and a pathway to alumni opportunities such as the Civic Innovation Academy and Lab. The page describes its youth training as intended for ages 13–18.

Checked November 4, 2026: the official landing page links a 2026–2027 fellowship application that explicitly no longer accepts responses. The landing page's September 4 deadline lacks a year. It is retained as a published milestone without a year, not a future annual deadline. The former civicsunplugged.org/apply address redirects to the current landing page.

The closed form does not expose eligibility, fees or essay instructions. The former catalog described free worldwide high-school participation and two optional 500-word/video prompts; these precise claims were not reverified for the current or a later intake. The current page calls the separate, alumni-only Academy tuition-free; that does not establish the Fellowship's fee. No exact application opening, complete dated cutoff or subsequent intake dates were verified.

Eligibility

The current official landing page describes civic innovation training for ages 13–18. Exact current school-grade and geographic eligibility could not be reverified from the closed 2026–27 form; the former worldwide/high-school claims should not be treated as confirmed next-cycle rules. Current school-grade eligibility not reverified from the closed application form.

How to Apply

The official Apply link leads to a form titled Civic Innovators Fellowship 2026–2027 that is no longer accepting responses. The landing page displays September 4 without a year; no complete dated cutoff, opening date or subsequent intake was verified. Prior catalog essay prompts and the old civicsunplugged.org/apply route are historical information, not confirmed current instructions.
