The Climate Science Olympiad is a competition where participants solve global problems related to climate change. Winners get a sponsored trip to the UN Climate Summit, prize money, and career support. The competition aims to empower young people to address climate issues and present their solutions to governments.

Free to enter. This is a competition with prizes, not a program with a fee to attend. The program fee is 0 as there is no cost to participate.
Winners receive a sponsored trip to the UN Climate Summit, money, and personal career support. The top teams will be awarded with a sponsored trip to Baku, Azerbaijan during the UN Climate Summit, COP29.

📋 Requisitos gerais

Participants must be comfortable with at least one of the following 12 languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Italian, German, Polish, Dutch, Romanian. Participants can compete solo or in a team of two.

Processo de inscrição

The competition consists of four rounds: 1. Qualifiers: A 25-minute online quiz with 10 multiple-choice questions. Participants need 8 or more correct answers to advance and can attempt it up to 3 times (plus 1 per referral). 2. Quarter Finals: A 25-minute online quiz with 15 in-depth multiple-choice questions. Participants need 13 or more correct answers to advance and get 1 attempt for every successful Qualifier attempt. 3. Semi-Finals: An online essay writing round where participants write a 1000-word proposal in 3 hours on a complex problem set related to Energy, Development, or Natural Systems. Topics are provided 10 days in advance. 4. Finals: The top 100 semi-finalists write a 3000-word proposal on a complex global problem and present their solution in a 20-minute presentation to judges.
