Interlochen Arts Camp is a residential summer arts program held on a 1,200-acre campus in northern Michigan. Students in current grades 3–12 from 49 countries and 52 US states and territories attend each summer for intensive training in one of seven disciplines: music, theatre, visual arts, creative writing, dance, film & new media, or interdisciplinary arts. Sessions range from one week to six weeks, with multiple start dates. Need-based and merit-based financial aid is available to international and domestic students alike for sessions of two weeks or longer; the current aid page reports that 86% of aid applicants received support in 2026. Full merit scholarships are available for qualifying instrumentalists through the Orchestral Scholars and Fennell Scholars programs.
Published 2027 dates and costs: The session table confirms the existing three- and six-week dates and lists separate one-, two- and four-week options. The 2027 tuition page gives US$2,125 / $5,300 / $7,550 / $8,400 / $10,500 for one / two / three / four / six weeks. Room and board are included, while travel, personal and program-specific extras can add costs. The US$65 application fee is non-refundable.
The application guide labels its milestones Camp 2027: December 1 pre-assessment, January 15 priority review and March 1 decisions, with ongoing consideration afterward as space permits. Those month/day milestones do not separately state calendar years. The payment page gives May 1 without a year; it is a tuition deadline. Full-tuition Orchestral/Fennell consideration requires the priority application date. Need-based aid requires financial documentation, and one-week Intensives are ineligible for aid.
Current grade determines division. The homepage says six-week programs are for grades 6–12, while the application guide says grades 3–12; the selected program’s requirements therefore matter. Non-audition decisions are described as starting in November in the key-date section and pre-arrival FAQ, but the guide’s earlier text says enrollment starts in December. These differing statements are retained without choosing a new date. Checked November 4, 2026.
