The International Medicine and Disease Olympiad (IMDO) is an invite-only online competition in medical knowledge and problem solving. Its official rules confirm the historical August 23, 2026 three-hour exam, and final 2026 results are now published. No future international date or national selection calendar was announced on the pages checked November 4, 2026.
The published 2026 rules required country selection, citizenship/permanent residence or equivalent, no college enrollment and age younger than 21 at the exam, with limited exceptions requested by a partner. They allow up to eight representatives for countries above 250 million population and up to four otherwise. These are historical rules, not confirmed reference criteria for a new cycle.
The current official partner list includes USMDO, ChinaMDO, LitMO, UKMDO and ThaiMDO. IMDO directs China, Lithuania, the UK and Thailand to their named partners and other countries to USMDO. However, USMDO’s homepage describes its entrants as US high-school students. That difference is unresolved for students representing other countries; neither a universal outside-China route nor individual international registration should be assumed.
The USMDO registration page confirms its own historical July 26, 2026, 11:59 p.m. PT cutoff and August 2 qualifier. The homepage has a stale July 26, 2025 registration sentence within its 2026 announcement; it is not used as a new deadline. Qualifier fees and registration differ from IMDO itself: a separate free-entry claim for the international event was not explicitly verified. Future dates, fees and eligibility remain unknown.
