The Patricia Grodd Poetry Prize for Young Writers is an annual free poetry contest run by The Kenyon Review, one of America's most prestigious literary journals. It is open exclusively to high school sophomores and juniors (grades 10–11) from anywhere in the world.
Students submit a single unpublished poem via Submittable during the month of November. The winning poet receives publication in The Kenyon Review and a full scholarship to attend a Kenyon Review Young Writers workshop (online or winter session). Runners-up are also considered for publication in the journal. Winners are announced in March.
There is no entry fee and no length requirement for the poem, though only one poem may be submitted per student. Check kenyonreview.org each fall for the submission portal.
