The Research Scholars Program is a 12-week part-time program offered by Non-trivial, designed for high school students to lead original, impactful research. Participants work with a leading researcher from conception to completion, honing their research skills in methodology, data analysis, and academic writing. The program requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week and includes 1-on-1 mentorship, research skills training, independent research time, and ongoing mentor support. The program structure progresses from building research foundations to core research, synthesis, and presentation, followed by ongoing support.

- All scholars receive a $10,000 scholarship. Recipients must use the scholarship for the purposes of education and personal development (e.g., purchasing textbooks, courses, technology, tuition, tutoring, or supplementing unpaid internships). The scholarship is not contingent on attending university.

We’re not looking for any existing experience. Many successful fellows started with just their curiosity and a drive to make a difference. We look for applicants who demonstrate: Curiosity: The desire to understand how the world works. Critical thinking: The ability to think deeply and analytically about complex problems. Drive to make a difference: The motivation to solve important problems.

Processo de inscrição
Initial application includes brainteasers (25 minutes) and puzzles (20 minutes) with sections on probability, game theory, and more. Select applicants will be invited to the semi-finalist stage where they will discuss their desire to make a difference (research ideas not required) and answer critical thinking questions.
