Stanford University Mathematics Camp (SUMaC)

OpenMathSummer Program

About the Program

Stanford University Mathematics Camp (SUMaC) is a selective summer program for advanced high school students (rising 11th–12th graders) from around the world. Participants explore areas of advanced mathematics not typically covered in high school, including lectures on current research, the historical development of mathematical ideas, and their scientific applications — all through lectures, guided research, and collaborative problem solving.

SUMaC offers both a residential program on Stanford's campus in Stanford, CA ($8,950, includes housing and meals) and an online program ($3,750). Each summer features two sessions covering different mathematical topics; students enroll in one session. Need-based financial aid is available to domestic and international students alike — applying for aid does not affect admissions decisions.

The application deadline is approximately February 2 each year, with the financial aid application due February 9. Visit sumac.spcs.stanford.edu for current session topics and application details.

Eligibility

Open to current 10th or 11th graders (rising juniors and seniors) worldwide. International students are welcome. No standardized test scores required. Students must be able to attend for the full program duration.
