About the Program

The Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) is the world's most prestigious youth award for a water-related science project. Established in 1997 by the Stockholm Water Foundation, the competition challenges students aged 15 to 20 to develop innovative solutions to major water challenges of environmental, scientific, social, or technological significance. Each year, tens of thousands of students from approximately 40 countries participate through national competitions organized by local partner organizations. National winners advance to the international final held during World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden, where they present their research to a distinguished jury of international water experts. The competition is free to enter and aims to raise awareness of global water issues while empowering the next generation of water scientists and innovators.
