The Next Generation Foresight Practitioner Young Voices Awards (NGFP-YV) is a free annual global competition run by Teach the Future, open to youth aged 12–17 worldwide. It invites young people to apply futures thinking — the practice of envisioning and designing for long-term change — to real-world challenges framed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participants submit individual, partner, or group projects through the online portal at apply.nextgenforesight.org. Submissions are evaluated across the 17 SDGs, with one project recognized per goal. The first-place winner receives $1,000; three runners-up each receive $500; six additional top finalists receive recognition. A dedicated MENA Region Recognition Award, launched in 2025, recognizes 10 additional projects from the Middle East and North Africa, with special honors for 1st–3rd place.
The historical 2026 deadline was June 26, 2026 at 23:59 GMT-10:00; applications are now closed. Resources including FAQs, a foresight zine, and Q&A sessions are available to help participants develop their submissions.
Deadline check (2026-11-04): The official Young Voices terms confirm the June 26, 2026 deadline, time zone, age-on-deadline cutoff, and group limit. The application portal states that 2026 applications are closed, and Teach the Future now publishes 2026 winners. No later Young Voices application deadline or rules were found. A 2027 event or adult fellowship announcement does not establish a 2027 Young Voices application cycle.
