IWD Global Techathon

About the Program

This offering is currently advertised by Teens in AI as the Global AI Techathon. The official page welcomes ages 13–18, with no prior AI or coding experience required, English-language activities and free participation. Participants learn AI and data science, develop team solutions to real-world problems, and share their work through local and global showcases.

The linked 2027 participant form gives Inspiration Week January 18–22, Bootcamp Week February 1–5, local AI Design Sprints within February 1–28, a Virtual Panel March 8 and Global Demo Day April 22. Local Ambassadors choose their sprint dates within the February window. These milestones do not mean every participant attends continuously from January through April. The form forwards registrations to the relevant Local Ambassador; an exact participant registration deadline is not published in the checked sources.

Earlier 2026 information listed January 26–30 inspiration sessions, February sprints, March 9–13 bootcamp, April 17 forum and April 23 demo day. Those historical exact dates could not be reverified from the current page or linked 2027 form and do not establish dates for a new edition.

Eligibility

Current Techathon information welcomes ages 13–18 from any background, with all skill levels and no prior AI or coding experience required. Activities use English. Participants work in teams, with adult supervision and moderated communication; local participation details are supplied by the relevant Local Ambassador. 13–18 under the current official page and linked 2027 participant form.

Use the participant registration form linked from the official Techathon page. The form is explicitly for 2027 and says registrations are forwarded to the relevant Local Ambassador, who provides local AI Design Sprint details. Schools/organizations use separate host-registration routes. An exact participant registration cutoff is not published in the checked sources. The 2027 milestones are published in the form; local sprint dates vary within the February window.
