The Adroit Journal’s Summer Mentorship Program is an online program pairing established writers with high school and gap year students interested in creative writing. It focuses on drafting, redrafting, and editing in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction through individualized, flexible, and informal correspondence. Poetry students share weekly work, while fiction and creative nonfiction students share biweekly work.

About the Program
Eligibility
Applicants should have a firm work ethic, some familiarity with writing and revision, be comfortable with giving and receiving critique, be prompt and generous communicators, and have the will to explore and improve. High school students in grades 9-12 (including graduating seniors) and gap year students.

How to Apply
The application has four parts: three Application Essays, a Writing Sample, an Optional Academic Transcript, and an Optional Additional Information Section. Applicants can apply to multiple genres by submitting two writing samples.
