The Earth Prize Competition

OpenEnvironmentSustainabilityCompetition

About the Program

The Earth Prize is a $100,000+ environmental sustainability competition open to teenage students worldwide. It recognizes and awards students who develop the best solutions to accelerate positive change towards environmental sustainability. Seven Regional Winners each receive $10,000 to implement their project, and a Global Winner is chosen from them by public vote. Since launching, The Earth Prize has engaged over 14,000 students across 160+ countries. The 2026 cycle introduced multi-language submission support with integrated AI translation. Registrations for the 2027 cycle are now open.

2027 deadlines checked November 4, 2026: The official rules and submission guidelines confirm registration through January 10, 2027, Blueprint submission January 31 at 12:00 PM CET, and selected Scholar teams’ second submission March 31 at 12:00 PM CET. These clock labels follow the provider’s wording. No registration cutoff time was verified. March 3 Scholar announcements and the May 28 awards ceremony are separate milestones.

Current eligibility is ages 13–19 at the time of competition and secondary education, including homeschool arrangements; university students are ineligible. Registration and every competition stage are free. Seven Regional Winners receive $10,000 each; current programme marketing describes the overall competition as $100,000+.

How to Apply

Register online via The Earth Prize onboarding page (minors need parental consent) and join The Earth Foundation Community on Discord. Enter individually or as a team of up to five students; once all members have registered, the Team Lead creates the team in The Earth Prize Submissions Portal. An Educator (teacher, administrator, program coordinator, or parent for homeschooled students) is encouraged but optional. The Team Lead submits one Earth Prize Blueprint per team: a validation-first framework of seven building blocks, from proving the problem exists to pitching the solution on video. The 35 selected Scholar teams then prepare a Scholar Submission (Project Update, Budget and Next Steps plan, Structured Video, and IP Self-Serve Worksheet). Beginning with the 2026 cycle, registrations and submissions can be made in any language with integrated AI translation support.
