About the Program

The UDC Capital Cup is a global entrepreneurship competition hosted by the University of the District of Columbia's School of Business and Public Administration, supported in part by the National Science Foundation. The 2026 competition was open to high school students worldwide in teams of up to three.

In the verified 2026 format, teams developed a new business or product/service concept with international market potential, then submitted a YouTube video pitch (max 4 minutes) as their qualifying entry. The 2026 rules provided for the top five teams to advance to in-person finals at UDC in Washington, DC, scheduled for August 13. Finalists are responsible for their own travel and visa arrangements.

Sources checked November 4, 2026: UDC's official 2026 competition page gives the June 30 registration cutoff at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, July 15 qualifier results and August 13 finals. Its linked registration form identifies the 2026 competition and is closed. No subsequent cycle's dates or eligibility were verified. The former catalog's free-entry claim could not be reverified from the current page or closed form; the entry fee is unknown. Finalists are responsible for travel, lodging and visa arrangements.
