The Wolfram High School Summer Research Program is an intensive 2.5-week residential program held at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, near Boston. Students work directly with Wolfram Research mentors — and sometimes Stephen Wolfram himself — on original computational research projects tailored to their interests, spanning AI, data science, mathematics, and other quantitative fields.
Participants produce computational essays and interactive research papers, with strong projects eligible for submission to STEM competitions or presentation at the Wolfram Technology Conference. A pre-program coding workshop is available for students with limited programming experience. Alumni may also pursue advanced opportunities including the Wolfram Emerging Leaders Program, internships, or research positions.
The program costs $5,500 (includes room, board, and a year of Wolfram tech access). Need-based aid covers up to 90% of costs. The application cycle opens each November, with an Early Decision deadline in mid-January and a Regular Decision deadline in late March. International students are welcome but must arrange their own visas.
