About the Program

World Science Scholars (WSS) is a free online program run by the World Science Festival for exceptionally talented high school students in mathematics and science. Scholars engage with approximately five courses taught by Nobel laureates and leading researchers, covering topics such as astrophysics, neuroscience, computational thinking, physics, and memory biology.

The program runs for one academic year and requires roughly two hours per week, combining asynchronous coursework with periodic live Zoom sessions and collaborative group projects. Upon completing all requirements, scholars receive a certificate of completion. The program currently serves 350+ scholars across 50 countries.

Applications for each cohort typically open in the fall and close in mid-April. No transcripts or test scores are required. Visit worldsciencescholars.com for the 2027 cohort application timeline.
