About the Scholarship

Boise State waives $10,000 a year of non-resident fees for international first-year students with a grade average of 3.30 to 4.00.

This is the higher of the university's two general non-resident bands. Stacked with a Global Scholarship it can reach the university's $17,000 combined ceiling.

Understand what these are. The university states plainly that they are not cash awards: they apply only to non-resident fees, and resident fees plus any uncovered portion remain payable. It also says it offers no fully funded scholarships, with a combined ceiling of $17,000 a year across awards.

What It Covers

Fees

$10,000 a year for up to four years. These are fee waivers rather than cash. The university states they can only be applied to non-resident fees, and that recipients remain responsible for resident fees and any uncovered portion of the non-resident fees. Construction management, nursing, pre-nursing, radiological science, alternative-fee and fully online programmes are excluded, as are exchange, second-degree, non-degree and pathway students. Awards stack to a combined ceiling of $17,000 a year, and the university states it offers no fully funded scholarships.

Eligibility

A grade average of 3.30 to 4.00. Renewal runs four years, needing 24 credits across autumn and spring, at least 12 credits a semester, and a cumulative grade average of 3.00.

Eligible Countries

The university states international undergraduate applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships, and defines an international student as a non-citizen requiring a visa to study there. Refugees, permanent residents and asylum seekers are not treated as international students.
