About the Scholarship

Mississippi State pays international transfer students $6,000 or $7,000 a semester by grade average, up to $35,000 across five semesters.

Read the figure carefully: it is per semester, not per year, which makes it larger than it first appears against the university's freshman scale.

It is limited to students pursuing a first bachelor's degree, and as with the freshman award the student must be assessed non-resident tuition to receive it.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

$6,000 a semester at a transferable grade average of 3.25 to 3.74, up to $30,000 across five semesters; $7,000 a semester at 3.75 and above, up to $35,000. Note these are semester figures, not annual. The student must be assessed non-resident tuition to receive it, and it cannot be combined with non-resident charge waivers or the university's National Merit and Presidential Endowed packages. International students with active agent contracts are ineligible. The university notes the amounts may combine institutional and private awards.

Eligibility

A minimum overall transferable grade average of 3.25, pursuing a first bachelor's degree. Renewable for up to five semesters on a 3.0 college grade average and continuous full-time enrolment.

Eligible Countries

The university states it automatically awards academic scholarships to eligible international students, and publishes these non-resident awards on its international scholarships page. It has no international-exclusive awards; international students receive the non-resident awards.
