About the Scholarship

The Knop Science Scholarship covers full tuition at Ripon College for four years, and the selection turns on a five-minute video rather than an essay or interview.

That format is worth noting for an applicant abroad: a video submission needs no travel and no scheduling across time zones, unlike the in-person interviews several comparable full-tuition awards require.

Two caveats. The award's own entry does not name international students; its eligibility rests on sitting under the college's academic scholarships heading, which the international page does cover. And the published dates are two cycles stale, so confirm the current cycle with admissions.

What It Covers

Tuition

A four-year full-tuition scholarship. All college scholarships and awards stack up to $40,000 a year and apply to tuition only. Note the college's scholarships page is headed 2025 to 2026 and its published dates are two cycles old, with its scholarship portal currently inactive, so confirm figures and deadlines before relying on them.

Eligibility

Entry as a first-year student with demonstrated potential in the sciences or mathematics. Selection is by the college's science scholars board.

Eligible Countries

The college states that once accepted you are automatically considered for academic merit-based scholarships, and that you are eligible to receive scholarship funding if you meet qualifying academic criteria, on its international applicants page, which links directly to this award list. It counts non-citizens who attended secondary school in the United States, non-citizens who have never been to the United States, dual citizens and permanent residents as international students. This award sits under the college's academic scholarships heading, which those sentences cover, though the award's own entry does not name international students.
