About the Scholarship

The Provost Scholarship is the second band of Rockhurst University's freshman merit scale. A 3.75 GPA brings $25,000 a year towards tuition, at the rate published for autumn 2026 to spring 2027.

It is awarded automatically with the admission decision, so the only work is the admission application itself. Weighted GPAs count where the transcript shows them, and a stronger first-semester senior year transcript can move you up a band.

International students are included. Rockhurst's international admission page places merit awards for international undergraduates in a $14,000 to $28,000 range and states plainly that state and federal aid is closed to them, so plan for housing, fees and travel out of family funds. The international application deadline for autumn entry is 1 June.

Renewal each year follows Rockhurst's published requirements, and this award cannot be combined with one of the competitive or academic scholarships.

What It Covers

Tuition

A tuition award of $25,000 for each academic year, at the rate published for autumn 2026 to spring 2027. Total institutional awards cannot exceed the cost of tuition, so housing, fees and travel stay with the student.

Eligibility

First-time incoming first-year students with a 3.75 GPA. Weighted GPAs are used where the transcript provides them, and the seventh-semester transcript is the last one reviewed for an upgrade to a higher band. Rockhurst states that international undergraduate applicants may be eligible for merit scholarships of $14,000 to $28,000, and that international students cannot receive state or federal aid. Renewal follows the published scholarship renewal requirements, and a student cannot hold both a competitive and an academic scholarship.

How to Apply

Automatic with the admission application, decided alongside the admission decision. International applicants apply through the Common Application or the Rockhurst online application with a counsellor recommendation, English proficiency documentation and a course-by-course credential evaluation, by 1 June for autumn entry.
