About the Scholarship

Virginia Commonwealth University's Provost Scholarship covers tuition and fees up to $16,000 a year for four years, and the university states international first-year applicants are considered for it.

The 1 November date is the one that matters, and it is earlier than the ordinary application deadline. Miss it and the award is gone regardless of the application's strength.

One limit shapes the value. The university states its merit scholarships cover in-state costs only, and non-resident tuition and fees are $41,127, so the award works against the in-state base rather than what an international student is actually charged.

Renewable for up to three further years on at least 28 credit hours across autumn and spring and a cumulative grade average of 3.3 or better. The university states merit scholarships cover in-state costs only, which caps the benefit against non-resident tuition and fees of $41,127.

Eligibility

Entry as a full-time degree-seeking first-year student. Selected on academic merit, with leadership, community service and artistic talent also considered where applicable. Renewable for up to three further years on at least 28 credit hours across autumn and spring and a cumulative grade average of 3.3 or better. Eligible Countries

The university states international first-year students who apply by 1 November will be considered for first-year scholarships, and can also qualify for its out-of-state scholarships. The federal aid form is encouraged but never required.

No separate application. The admission application and an official secondary school transcript must arrive by 1 November, with notification by early April.
