Austin College pays $5,000 to $7,500 a year to physics and engineering students, and adds up to $4,000 for an approved summer research placement or internship.
The test requirement is less of an obstacle here than it looks: international applicants schooled outside English must submit test scores anyway, so the SAT mathematics threshold of 650 is not an extra hurdle.
The research stipend is the part worth planning around, since paid summer research is otherwise hard for an international student to arrange in a first year.
