Beloit College
Beloit College's floor award pays $34,000 to $38,000 a year to applicants with a grade average below 3.0.
It is worth being plain about what this is: a floor rather than a competitive honour. Beloit gives a substantial award to applicants who fall below a 3.0, where most colleges in this directory stop paying entirely.
The range sits well inside the $45,000 cap the college states for international merit awards, so it is fully reachable.
$34,000 to $38,000 a year, entirely within the college's stated $45,000 international cap. The college is need-aware, stating an applicant's demonstrated financial need is reviewed as part of the admission evaluation. It says it offers no full-ride scholarships. The average international scholarship is $35,000 a year. International applicants must file a declaration or certification of finances even if not applying for aid. Renewal needs satisfactory academic progress and no warning or probationary status.
Entry as a first-year student with an unweighted grade average below 3.0. Test scores are not required for merit consideration.
The college states all international applicants are considered for merit scholarships. Note that its international aid page caps international merit at $45,000 a year while its scholarships page gives a combined domestic maximum of $55,000, so the international ceiling is the lower figure.
