Hawaii Pacific lists this award on its international scholarships page and pays $5,000 a year, split as $2,500 each in the autumn and spring, for up to four semesters. It stacks on top of the university's academic merit scholarship rather than replacing it.
The requirement is active Phi Theta Kappa membership, with a 3.5 GPA and 45 transferable credits from the member institution preferred. Students keep it by staying enrolled in at least 12 credits and holding a 2.0 cumulative GPA. It is not paid over the summer.
The practical limit is the pathway: Phi Theta Kappa is a United States community college honour society, so this reaches international students who are already studying at a US community college rather than those applying from abroad.
