The Global Scholar Award covers tuition, housing and food, and student fees at Marquette University for up to two international students each year. It renews across all four years of the degree as long as you stay in good academic standing.
Eligibility is narrow and clearly drawn. Your secondary school must be located outside the United States, you must be entering as a first-year student in the autumn semester, and you must enrol on a non-immigrant F-1 visa. You need an unweighted grade average of at least 3.25 across college-preparatory courses and a record of leadership in school and extracurricular activities. Students from every academic field are considered.
Applying takes two steps. Get your Marquette admission application in by 1 February, the Regular Decision deadline. After you are admitted, a Global Scholar application appears on your student status page, and that is due by 1 March with a 300 to 500 word essay on how you have been the difference in your community, plus an activities list.
Final candidates take a video interview. With two awards a year, the odds are long, so treat it as a stretch application alongside Marquette's regular merit awards. Scholars are expected to run global engagement activities on campus and around Milwaukee every year of the award.
