New College of Florida pays $1,000 a year to international transfer students on an F-1 visa who are active Phi Theta Kappa members.
Phi Theta Kappa is an honour society for American two-year colleges, so this reaches students already studying at a community college in the United States rather than applicants from abroad.
It cannot be combined with the college's All-Florida Academic Team award, and students who already hold a bachelor's degree cannot receive institutional funding at all.
