About the Scholarship

The University of Kansas pays $12,000 a year, up to $48,000 across a degree, to international first-year students with a grade average of 3.70 to 3.84.

One wrinkle to ignore. An eligibility block on the university's admissions page says these go to domestic students. That block sits below both the in-state and the out-of-state tables and governs both, and the university's international office runs the identical sentence with the word removed. The admissions page itself now sends international first-year applicants to that office's page for these awards.

$12,000 a year, up to $48,000 across the degree. Non-resident tuition and fees exceed $30,000 a year, so this is well short of full tuition.

Eligibility

A secondary school grade average of 3.70 to 3.84. Entry as a first-year student, with the band set by secondary school grade average. Renewal needs a 3.0 grade average at the university and full-time enrolment, for eight continuous semesters or until the first bachelor's degree, whichever comes first. Students on exclusively online degrees are excluded.

How to Apply

No separate application. International applicants must submit a complete application with all required materials by 1 May for autumn scholarships. The 1 December date on the university's admissions page belongs to its domestic freshman track.
