About the Scholarship

The Cayenne Scholarship is the transfer counterpart to UL Lafayette's Fleur-de-Lis award, waiving the non-resident fee for an estimated $6,864 a semester across up to eight semesters.

It is worth noting who it is actually for. The 12-credit requirement has to be met at an American college or university, so this reaches students already studying in the United States rather than those transferring from a university at home.

The university publishes no deadline for this award, unlike its first-year counterpart, and marks the amount as an estimate.

Eligibility

At least 12 non-remedial credit hours from an American college or university, a cumulative grade average of 2.75 on all college-level work, no bachelor's degree already held, not a transfer re-entry student, and regular admission to the university. The waiver runs up to eight semesters; the university publishes no renewal grade threshold.

Eligible Countries

The university states it offers two non-resident fee waivers to new incoming undergraduates who are citizens of countries other than the United States. This award additionally requires previous study at an American college or university.
