Virginia Commonwealth University
The Deans' Scholarship is Virginia Commonwealth University's second merit band, covering tuition and fees up to $8,000 a year for four years.
As with the Provost award, the operative date is 1 November rather than the ordinary application deadline.
The same limit applies: the university states its merit scholarships cover in-state costs only, so the award works against the in-state base rather than the $41,127 an international student pays.
Covers tuition and fees up to $8,000 a year, capped at $4,000 a semester, for an estimated total of about $32,000. Renewable for up to three further years on at least 28 credit hours across autumn and spring and a cumulative grade average of 3.3 or better. The university states merit scholarships cover in-state costs only, which caps the benefit against non-resident tuition and fees of $41,127.
Entry as a full-time degree-seeking first-year student, selected on academic merit with leadership, community service and artistic talent also considered. Renewable for up to three further years on at least 28 credit hours across autumn and spring and a cumulative grade average of 3.3 or better. The university states merit scholarships cover in-state costs only, which caps the benefit against non-resident tuition and fees of $41,127.
The university states international first-year students who apply by 1 November will be considered for first-year scholarships, and can also qualify for its out-of-state scholarships. The federal aid form is encouraged but never required.
No separate application. The admission application and transcript must arrive by 1 November, with notification by early April.
