Austin College
Austin College awards up to $4,000 a year on talent rather than grades, and international applicants are reviewed for it alongside the college's general academic scholarship.
The audition can be recorded rather than performed in person, which matters for an applicant abroad.
Only one institutional award can be held in addition to the general academic scholarship, so this is the one to choose carefully. It applies to tuition only.
Up to $4,000 a year for each recipient, with a limited number available. Institutional scholarships may only be applied to tuition, and a student may receive only one institutional award in addition to the general academic scholarship. The college states it cannot review applications for autumn entry from international students received after 1 March.
A live or recorded audition and an interview with the music scholarship committee, plus performance in an assigned college ensemble. No music major is required, and renewal needs an endorsement from the music department.
The college states it reviews all applicants for merit scholarship awards, while noting it follows a need-aware admission policy for international students and cannot offer them need-based aid. That statement covers merit awards generally rather than naming this one.
A separate application by 1 February, with notifications in mid-March. The college notes applications for autumn 2027 open in late spring.
