About the Scholarship

Bocconi4Access is a ladder, not a single award. One application is assessed against every tier in turn, starting with the largest, so an international first-year applicant is considered for the 100% exemption from academic tuition and fees first and, failing that, for the 80%, 60%, 40% and 20% waivers below it.

Every tier, not just the 100% exemption, is reserved for international students entering the first year of a Bachelor's degree, a Law program or the HEC-Bocconi double program. What changes between tiers is the size of the award, not who can apply.

What decides the outcome is the household's economic and asset condition, verified document by document by the Fees, Funding and Housing Office. Bocconi states that no benefit is assigned on a single criterion, which means a strong case on one measure does not carry an application.

The budget is the real constraint. Waivers are granted until the allocated resources run out, with priority to complete applications and to the households in the most severe financial condition. Meeting the requirements is not the same as receiving an award.

The order of steps catches people out. Enrolment comes first, because the MyApplication portal only opens to enrolled students, and credentials take about two hours to activate after enrolment completes. Only then can the application be submitted, and only within the window for the admission round taken.

Renewal runs year by year for the legal duration of the course, subject to merit requirements. Holders still pay the first installment advance each year, with the amount adjusted once the waiver is confirmed, so the cash flow is not zero even with a full waiver.

An award that is not formally accepted by the date stated in the official result is forfeited.

The funding pages were checked on 16 September 2026. The 2027-28 pages were marked as being updated at that time.

What It Covers

  • Tuition
  • Fees

A waiver on Bocconi's ordinary academic tuition and fees, set at 100%, 80%, 60%, 40% or 20% according to the economic and asset condition of the student's household. The whole scheme is dedicated to international students in the first year of a Bachelor's degree, a Law program or the HEC-Bocconi double program; the 100% tier is a full exemption from academic tuition and fees. A single application is assessed for every tier in turn, starting with the largest, so a candidate who does not qualify for the full waiver is considered for the smaller ones. Benefits renew year by year for the legal duration of the course when the merit requirements are met. Assigned students still pay the first installment advance each year, with the amount adjusted once the waiver is confirmed.

Eligibility

Enrol first, then apply. Only a student who has completed the online enrolment procedure can reach the MyApplication portal, and portal credentials activate roughly two hours after enrolment. The whole scheme, from the 100% full waiver down to the 20% tier, requires international candidate status and enrolment in the first year of a Bachelor's degree, a Law program or the HEC-Bocconi double program. The Fees, Funding and Housing Office verifies every document and assesses the economic and asset condition of the household, and no benefit is assigned on a single criterion. Waivers are granted until the allocated budget is exhausted, with priority to complete applications and to the households in the most severe financial condition, so meeting the requirements does not guarantee an award. An awarded benefit must be formally accepted by the date given in the official result or it is forfeited.

How to Apply

One application, "Bocconi4Access to Education", covers every waiver tier and every other benefit in the scheme. Submit it through MyApplication within one of the published windows for the admission round taken, after completing enrolment. For 2027-28 undergraduate entry the results follow five to twelve weeks after each window closes, depending on the round.
