East Tennessee State University places international undergraduates on one of three tiers aimed at the cost of out-of-state tuition: Blue at $5,000 a year above a 3.0 grade average, Gold at $7,000 above 3.5, and Elite at $9,000 above 3.75.
All three are automatic on admission with no separate application, and renew for up to eight semesters on a 2.75 grade average.
Students pursuing medicine or pharmacy, those paying in-state tuition, and those who already hold a university degree are excluded.

Applicants must have, or plan to have, a visa that allows a full-time course of study.
