About the Scholarship

George Fox University adds up to $3,000 a year for admitted students who attend its scholarship summit and interview.

When you apply decides your ceiling. Early action applicants who apply by 1 November compete for $1,000 to $3,000; priority decision applicants who apply by 1 February compete for $1,000 to $2,000.

It stacks on the university's merit scholarship, but the university caps all additional university-funded scholarships at $5,000 above that award, so this and its visit scholarship together approach the limit.

What It Covers

$1,000 to $3,000 a year for early action applicants and $1,000 to $2,000 for priority decision applicants. It stacks on top of the academic merit scholarship. The university caps additional university-funded scholarships at $5,000 on top of the academic merit award, and requires international students to file a declaration of finances showing they can meet an estimated $44,433 a year after scholarships.

Eligibility

Admission as an incoming autumn student, then attendance at the scholarship summit interview event. Being Christian is not required to attend, but all undergraduates must attend chapel or chapel electives for 15 hours a semester, complete 15 credit hours of liberal arts and Christian life coursework, and abide by the community lifestyle agreement covering alcohol, gambling and entertainment choices.

How to Apply

A separate step: admitted students attend the scholarship summit and are assessed by interview. Applying by 1 November as an early action applicant carries the higher band; 1 February as a priority decision applicant carries the lower one.
