If you have spent high school on a robotics team, Michigan Tech pays for it. The FIRST Scholarship goes to incoming students who actively competed on a FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST Tech Challenge or VEX Robotics team, and Michigan Tech states plainly that Michigan, non-Michigan and international students are all welcome to apply.
There are forty awards each year. Twenty-five are worth $4,000 a year and fifteen are worth $1,500 a year, and both are renewable across four years, so the larger award is worth $16,000 over a degree.
This one needs an application. You complete the Michigan Tech Scholarship Application on top of your admission application, and everything, transcripts included, has to be in by 1 February at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
It sits alongside Michigan Tech's other entry awards, so read your offer letter carefully to see how it combines with the International Ambassador Scholarship or the College of Business Dean's Award before you count on a total.
