About the Scholarship

The McCabe Scholarship covers full tuition at Swarthmore College for four years. Swarthmore allocates it against regional quotas, and at least one place each year is reserved for an international student, provided the award meets their full financial need.

The remaining places go to at least two students from the Delmarva Peninsula, two from southeastern Pennsylvania, three from the rest of the United States and one transfer student.

There is no separate application. Candidates are chosen from admitted students, with regional candidates interviewed by committee and others told alongside their admission decision.

Full tuition for four years. Living costs and housing are not covered.

Eligibility

Selected on ability, character, personality, leadership and service. The college sets regional quotas of at least two students from the Delmarva Peninsula, two from southeastern Pennsylvania, three from the rest of the United States, one transfer student and one international student.
