The Coronat Scholars Program is Syracuse's most competitive award for students entering the College of Arts and Sciences or the Maxwell School. It pays full tuition for four years, or five in an approved five-year programme.
Two extras make it unusually strong for someone coming from another country. Coronat Scholars get one Syracuse Abroad international study opportunity funded in full, including tuition, room and board, airfare and expenses, and can compete for funding for one summer of approved study, research or volunteer work. Admission to the Renée Crown University Honors Program and mentoring towards national scholarships come with it.
Getting considered costs nothing extra. Applying to Arts and Sciences or Maxwell puts you in the pool, and Syracuse states that merit consideration runs regardless of citizenship or country of birth. One caveat for an F-1 student: the part of the programme that tops up aid beyond tuition to meet demonstrated need depends on federal aid eligibility and a FAFSA, so plan around tuition cover plus the study abroad funding.
