Sewanee EQB Award

About the Scholarship

The EQB Award is the scholarship most Sewanee students with strong academics actually receive, worth between $5,000 and $34,000 a year. The band is wide, so the figure depends on how your file reads against the rest of the pool.

Consideration is automatic for everyone who applies. Sewanee decides academic scholarships from the Common Application and the required admission documents, and states that all applicants are considered for merit scholarships with no separate form. International applicants are in that review once they have submitted the financial documents Sewanee asks of every international file.

At the top of the range it covers roughly half the direct cost of a year at Sewanee, and it can be combined with need-based aid and with the $5,000 Wilkins Scholarship. It renews with satisfactory academic progress.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

A cash scholarship of $5,000 to $34,000 a year applied to the student account, renewable while satisfactory academic progress is maintained. It covers part of tuition rather than the full cost of attendance.

Eligibility

Awarded on academic merit to entering students. Every applicant is considered, international applicants included, and the award renews while the student maintains satisfactory academic progress. Recipients may stack the Wilkins Scholarship, the Fellowship in the Arts and other Sewanee awards on top.

Eligible Countries

Sewanee states that all applicants are considered for merit scholarships, including international applicants, with no separate application.
