The Presidential Scholarship is the University of Scranton's highest merit award, covering full tuition. The university describes the number available as limited, which places it at the top of a four-step merit ladder that runs down through the Dean's, Loyola and Faber Scholarships.
International applicants are considered. Scranton's international application information page states that all accepted students are automatically evaluated for academic merit scholarships and that no special applications are required, with the amount confirmed in the acceptance letter.
That makes the effort involved straightforward. There is no scholarship essay, no interview and no separate deadline: the strength of your admissions application decides it. Students applying without SAT or ACT scores are still evaluated for merit aid.
The gap to plan for is everything outside tuition. Housing, food and fees at a residential university in Pennsylvania add a substantial sum each year, so a full-tuition award still needs family funds or additional aid behind it.
