About the Program

The On-Demand Youth Leadership Program (ODYLP): Excellence in AI and Global Leadership Exchange (EAGLE) is a U.S. Department of State program implemented by Legacy International in partnership with World Affairs Council Seattle. It brings together approximately 18 youth (ages 15–18) and three adult mentors from Kosovo, the Republic of Korea, and the United States for a 20-day exchange focused on AI, technology, and global leadership.

Program structure:

  • Seattle, WA (15 days): Immersive learning at major tech companies including Google, Microsoft, and Amazon; hands-on AI workshops; sessions with engineers, product managers, scientists, and researchers
  • Washington, D.C. (5 days): Visits to government institutions, historical landmarks, and civic engagement activities

What participants gain:

  • Fundamentals of AI and how it's transforming the world
  • Skills to design AI-powered solutions to real community issues
  • Understanding of ethical and responsible technology use and digital citizenship
  • Innovation and entrepreneurship skills through interactive workshops
  • Leadership and civic engagement skills through hands-on community problem-solving
  • Cross-cultural collaboration with peers from three countries

Following the exchange, participants complete community capstone projects that apply their AI and leadership skills to address real challenges in their home communities.
