About the Program

The International Computer Science Olympiad (ICSO) is an annual academic competition organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), assessing students in grades 1–10 on computer science fundamentals and information technology. The exam is 60 minutes, objective-type (multiple choice), and administered offline at registered schools across 72 countries.

The competition awards international, zonal, and school-level prizes including cash awards for the top three international rank holders, medals, certificates, and teacher appreciation awards. Over ₹24 crore in total prizes are distributed annually across all SOF olympiads.

Registration is school-based — students cannot sign up individually. School administrators register with SOF at sofworld.org at least 30 days before the chosen exam date. The 2026-27 exam dates are September 24, 2026 (Date 1) or December 17, 2026 (Date 2).

Eligibility

Open to students in grades 1–10 enrolled in a school registered with SOF. Available across 72 countries. Registration is handled by school administrators — individual students cannot register directly. Schools must apply at least 30 days before the exam date.
