About the Scholarship

This is a full ride in the strict sense. University tuition at the international rate, the College fee, annual maintenance sufficient for a single person, the student visa and the Immigration Health Surcharge are all covered, which leaves very little for a student to find themselves.

Nothing about it is applied for separately. Applicants offered a place by a Cambridge College are sent a Cambridge Trust form and considered for every award the Trust administers that they qualify for. There is no deadline to diarise and no way to apply ahead of an offer, so the entire controllable part of this is the Cambridge application itself.

The criteria are need and circumstance rather than academic record. Cambridge admission has already settled the academic question by the time the Trust looks at a candidate, so what the Trust weighs is a high level of financial need and having overcome significant challenges in reaching the point of admission.

It is unrestricted across the university: tenable at any College and in any subject, so the choice of College does not affect access to it.

Overseas fee status is the eligibility gate, which rules out home-fee students regardless of nationality or circumstances.

What It Covers

  • Tuition
  • Living stipend
  • Fees

Covers the University tuition fee at the international rate, the College fee, annual maintenance sufficient for a single person, the student visa and the Immigration Health Surcharge. The award is tenable at any College of the University of Cambridge and in any subject.

Eligibility

Hold overseas fee status as an undergraduate applicant to Cambridge, demonstrate a high level of financial need, and have overcome significant challenges in gaining admission. Academic selection happens through Cambridge admission itself rather than through the scholarship, since only applicants already offered a place by a College are considered.

Eligible Countries

Undergraduate applicants holding overseas fee status at Cambridge, which excludes home-fee students. Nationality is otherwise unrestricted.

How to Apply

There is no separate application to seek out. International applicants who are offered a place by a Cambridge College are sent an application form for Cambridge Trust scholarships, and are then considered for every award administered by the Trust for which they are eligible, this one included. Securing the Cambridge offer is therefore the only step a candidate controls.
