About the Scholarship

The Navy and Silver Award is the entry band of Columbia College's automatic merit scale, paying $4,000 a year for up to four years.

It matters because of where the bar sits: a grade average around 2.4, well below what most American merit awards require. For a student whose transcript would not clear a conventional merit threshold, this is a rare published award.

Renewal needs 27 credits a year and satisfactory academic progress rather than a fixed grade average.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

$4,000 a year for up to four years, $16,000 in total. Paid in autumn and spring only, not summer.

Eligibility

Entry as a first-year student with a grade average of 2.45 to 2.40 or below, or 2.75 and below where no test score is submitted. Renewal needs full-time degree-seeking enrolment, 27 credits a year and satisfactory academic progress.

Eligible Countries

The college states that its scholarships are awarded to both American and international students.

How to Apply

No separate application. Every admitted student is considered automatically, on the admission file. Without a test score the college considers grades alone only up to the Distinction level.
